Team Leader - Central Waste (Weekend)

The Package: $105,580.80 - $116,672.40 gross per annum inclusive of penalty rates + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 12 of the QPRC Salary System 2026) and Award increases of 4% in 2027-28 and 4% in 2028-2029.

4-day work week – Permanent Part-time – 64.5 hours per fortnight. Work pattern consists of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday shifts.                                                                                                                       

The Waste Services Branch are seeking a skilled front-line leader to oversee site operations and lead the performance of the team in delivering excellent customer service, safe and efficient operations, and positive environmental outcomes. Be a key contributor and leader in creating a cleaner and greener environment for your local community.

In this role you will:

• Plan and prioritise the daily operations of local waste transfer stations, waste collection and illegal dumping responses.
• Oversee and support staff to deliver reliable waste services and customer services to the local community.
• Oversee the daily financial transactions for waste services in the area, ensuring consistency in the application of fees and charges.
• Montor the sites and lead the team in delivery of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality outcomes.
• Lead the team in delivering exceptional customer service.

We are looking for someone who:

• Possesses relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar front-line leadership position.
• Can effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
• Possesses the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to successfully complete goals within agreed timelines.
• Has a passion for waste, waste management and the environment.
• Possesses a Current ‘C’ class or greater drivers’ licence.
