About the role
Reporting to the ACHPER NSW Board, the Executive Officer (EO) is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the organisation. This pivotal leadership role encompasses financial management, professional learning services, stakeholder engagement, revenue generation, team leadership, and organisational operations. The Executive Officer leads a small office team.
Key responsibilities
Advise the Board and support informed decision-making.
Develop and implement organisational strategy, annual operational plans and priorities.
Lead organisational change, continuous and implementation of Board decisions.
Ensure governance, legislative and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with ACHPER State and Territory branches and the National Office.
Develop and manage organisational budgets and financial plans.
Monitor financial performance and organisational sustainability.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the Board.
Identify new revenue opportunities and oversee grants, tenders and project budgets.
Build and maintain a diverse portfolio of corporate, government and community partners, sponsors and supporters.
About you
Relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, education, sport, health or a related field; or equivalent senior leadership experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience within a membership-based association, not-for-profit organisation, education, health, sport or recreation setting.
Proven experience developing and implementing organisational strategy.
Experience leading teams and successfully managing organisational change.
Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting and Board reporting.
Experience managing staff, contractors and external service providers.
Experience developing business opportunities and generating revenue.
Eligibility to work in Australia.
Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
Satisfactory National Police Check.
