Front House Supervisor

At BASSCARE, we believe dining should be an extraordinary part of every resident's day. We're seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Front House Supervisor to lead and elevate our restaurant-style dining service across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining hospitality excellence with leadership. Working closely with our Head Chefs and leadership teams, you will coach, mentor and support Food Services Assistants (FSAs), Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) and Wait Staff, ensuring every resident enjoys a premium dining experience every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Services Excellence:

• Drive and lead a premium restaurant-style dining experience across all sites, maintaining dignity, professionalism and attentiveness for our residents.
• Ensure meals are plated accurately in accordance with chef-prepared sample plates.
• Work collaboratively with Head Chefs to continuously improve hospitality standards.
• Conduct regular service observations and provide real-time coaching and feedback to staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and organisational policies.
• Monitor safe food handling, temperature control and documentation.
• Complete and maintain digital food service records.

Workforce & Roster Management

• Manage and handle the Food Service Assistant Rosters across all sites.
• Minimise reliance on agency staff to support cost control and consistency.
• Manager FSAs including recruitment, induction and performance management.

Training & Development

• Design and deliver structured service training to FSAs, PCAs and Wait Staff.
• Coach teams on plating standards, table etiquette, resident communication, allergen awareness and food safety compliance.
• Conduct regular refresher training.

Hours of Work & Location

• 2x Job Share Positions available.
• Permanent Part Time, 52.5 hours per fortnight
• 7 shifts per fortnight: 7:00am–3:00pm and 11:30am–7:30pm
• Rotating roster across days, evenings and weekends (Monday–Sunday)
• Ashburton, Canterbury and Glen Iris.

What You Bring

You are an experienced hospitality leader who thrives on developing people and creating memorable dining experiences. You enjoy being hands-on, solving problems and supporting teams to achieve consistently high standards.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality management or leadership.
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate or similar.
• A strong background in restaurant, hotel or butler-style service including fine dining or wait staff experience.
• Proven experience training staff and managing performance.
• Solid understanding of food safety standards and aged care service requirements.
• Experience managing operations across multiple sites.
• Ability to use and accurately complete digital food safety records and documentation.
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Working Rights in Australia.
• Current driver's licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Experience in Aged Care preferred (highly desirable)
