Founding Engineer (DevOps/Infra)

We're looking for a Founding Engineer based in Sydney, Australia, with flexibility for fully remote work. As a founding team member, you work with our team to architect, design, and develop software solutions that comprise Voltaire’s AI-powered platform. You will be instrumental in supporting the technical vision of the company and building a robust product to help legal teams deliver greater access to justice.
What you'll be doingOwn our AWS infrastructure (ECS/Fargate, ECR, IAM) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions), including introducing infrastructure-as-code so our setup is reproducible and auditableBuild out staging environments, monitoring, logging, and incident responseLead a security review of our data handling, access controls, and secrets managementContribute directly to our Node.js/Hono backend and Supabase data layer alongside infra workCollaborate on integrating AI/LLM features (Anthropic SDK) into a platform built to support them reliably
What we're looking forYou have 2+ years engineering strong systems/infrastructure fundamentals: AWS, CI/CD, containerization (Docker), infra-as-codeYou are comfortable also writing production backend code (Node.js/TypeScript), not infra-onlyYou are a problem solver who works autonomously, takes ownership, and can explain architectural tradeoffs independentlyYou have long-term thinking about infrastructure and security, especially around sensitive dataBonus: You have experience integrating AI/LLM applications into production systems
