Engineering Apprentice – Metal Fabrication

We are currently looking for a motivated Engineering Apprentice – Metal Fabrication to join our growing team in Banksmeadow.

Working alongside qualified and experienced fabricators and welders, you will gain valuable hands-on experience, practical trade skills, mentoring and support while completing your apprenticeship.

About the Role

Your training and duties will include:

• Performing engineering measurements and calculations
• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings
• Applying welding principles and developing welding skills
• Using workshop machinery and hand and power tools
• Carrying out mechanical cutting, drilling, grinding and preparation
• Fabricating and assembling metal components
• Working on handrails, balustrades, staircases and structural steel projects
• Maintaining a clean and safe workshop
• Applying workplace health and safety procedures

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have a genuine interest in metal fabrication and welding
• Be motivated to build a career in the fabrication industry
• Be reliable, trustworthy and punctual
• Have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Be comfortable undertaking manual and physical work
• Have good communication skills
• Have a high level of attention to detail
• Be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

Previous workshop or trade experience is advantageous but not essential. We are looking for someone who is genuinely committed to learning a trade and becoming a qualified tradesperson.

Apprenticeship & Qualification

The successful candidate will complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade as part of their apprenticeship.

Salary: Based on experience and stage of apprenticeship, in accordance with the applicable award.
