About the role
SUMMARYWe are seeking a Clinical Trial Coordinator Team Leader to lead and support a team of Clinical Trial Coordinators responsible for the successful delivery of clinical research studies. This role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and clinical trial expertise to ensure high-quality participant experiences and compliance with regulatory and protocol requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Trial Coordinator looking to take the next step in their career in a supervisory capacity. Prior people management experience is not essential.
We are looking for someone with strong clinical trial coordination expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and a passion for developing others.
RESPONSIBILITIESTeam Leadership & DevelopmentProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to a team of Clinical Trial Coordinators.Foster a positive, high-performance team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development discussions.Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new team members.Assist with workforce planning, resource allocation, and workload management.
Clinical Trial OperationsOversee the coordination and execution of clinical trials across multiple studies and therapeutic areas.Ensure study activities are conducted in accordance with protocols, ethical guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements.Monitor study timelines, recruitment targets, and site performance metrics.Support the resolution of operational challenges and escalation of study-related issues.Collaborate with Principal Investigators, sponsors, CROs, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful study delivery.
Quality & ComplianceMaintain high standards of documentation, data integrity, and participant safety.Support audit and inspection readiness activities.Ensure adherence to organisational policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
Stakeholder ManagementDevelop strong relationships with investigators, study sponsors, CROs, and research teams.Act as a key point of contact for operational and coordinator-related matters.Facilitate effective communication across clinical research teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-5 years' experience working as a Clinical Trial Coordinator, Clinical Research Coordinator, or similar clinical research role.Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).Experience coordinating clinical studies from start-up through to close-out.Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency with electronic clinical trial systems and research documentation.
Leadership PotentialA natural mentor who enjoys supporting and developing others.Demonstrated ability to influence, guide, and collaborate with peers and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Desire to move into a formal leadership role.
DesirablePrevious experience providing informal leadership, mentoring, training, or supervising junior team members.Experience across multiple therapeutic areas.Relevant tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
