Café Chef – Part-Time / Full-Time

TRU Coffee is looking for an experienced and reliable café chef to join our kitchen team. Part-time to full-time hours are available, depending on the successful applicant’s availability.

This is a daytime position in a busy neighbourhood café, with a strong focus on quality food, consistency and efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
• Managing your section during busy services
• Completing daily food preparation
• Maintaining consistent portion sizes and presentation
• Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
• Following food-safety, labelling and temperature-control procedures
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
• Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a chef or experienced cook in a busy café
• Strong breakfast and brunch experience
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Reliable, punctual and well organised
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
• Availability across weekdays and weekends
• Relevant cookery qualifications are preferred
