About the role
Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator
At The Trustee for CANDELORO FARM TRUST, we are looking for a skilled Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator to work on a full-time basis (at least 38 hours per week).
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Operate tractors, harvesters, loaders, forklifts, and other agricultural and horticultural mobile plant to support farm operations.
· Operate tractors and attached implements to plough, cultivate, prepare, and maintain soil and growing areas.
· Operate agricultural machinery for planting, sowing, fertilising, spraying, cultivating, and maintaining crops.
· Operate harvesting machinery and equipment to harvest, collect, and handle agricultural and horticultural produce.
· Select, attach, adjust, and operate appropriate implements and attachments according to the agricultural task being undertaken.
· Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of mobile plant, including checking fuel, oil, tyres, hydraulics, brakes, and other operating components.
· Identify and report mechanical faults, equipment damage, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
· Operate mobile plant safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer instructions, workplace procedures, safety requirements, and relevant regulations.
Requirements
· Relevant qualification or at least 1 year of relevant experience in lieu of the qualification.
· At least 1 year of relevant experience.
· Demonstrated ability to safely operate tractors, loaders, forklifts, and other agricultural machinery.
· Good understanding of safe machinery operation, workplace health and safety procedures, and relevant workplace requirements.
Position: Full Time
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000
