About the role
Market Forces campaigns to protect the environment by shifting finance away from fossil fuels that are driving global climate change. We focus on banks, superannuation funds and other investors that finance environmentally risky and damaging activities. Shifting investment to a clean energy revolution is needed to secure a stable climate in the long term.
Our team campaigns on the most egregious examples of fossil fuel polluters in Australia, Asia and beyond - wherever our interventions can create the greatest impact.
Our work is grounded in a shared commitment to Empowerment, Integrity, Impact and Creativity as our core values.
Associate Campaigners work at the frontline of implementing Market Forces’ advocacy campaigns under guidance from their manager. They provide essential operational support to deliver campaigns that protect the environment by stopping proposed fossil fuel projects and engage and influence key stakeholders. Through internal working groups with other campaigners, research and communications team members, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across our organisation to deliver campaigns with impact. This position has a focus on institutional investors in Australia, including superannuation funds.
You are a passionate early career campaigner or activist with some experience and are looking to build a career as a change maker. You thrive in a busy environment, working with others who share your passion, energy and commitment for driving change.
You understand what drives corporations, institutions and investors to adopt policies that help or hinder action on climate change and you have a keen interest in influencing their future financing and investment positions. You excel at stakeholder engagement, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compellingly. You are highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and enjoy working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. You’re a proactive problem-solver and a team player with a strong sense of initiative, bringing enthusiasm and resilience to your campaigning work.
