Disability Support Worker

Lionheart Support Services is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to provide reliable, high-quality support to participants with complex physical and personal care needs.

This role suits workers who are confident with hands-on care, take pride in doing things properly, and understand the importance of consistency, dignity, safety and respectful support.

About the role

You will provide a range of supports, including:

- Support with daily living tasks, meals and essential household activities

- Community access and participation in activities that are meaningful to each participant

- Calm, respectful and structured support that promotes comfort, enjoyment and wellbeing

- Support in line with individual care plans, Behaviour Support Plans and safe manual-handling practices

- Clear, accurate shift notes, handovers and incident reporting

- Effective communication with families, carers and the wider support team

- High physical and personal care, including manual handling, transfers, showering, toileting and mobility assistance

This role involves a rotating roster that may include day, evening, weekend, sleepovers.and active overnight shifts.

- Confidence working in physically demanding care environments

- The ability to follow care plans, take direction and use sound judgement

- Strong communication and documentation skills

- Reliability, consistency and the ability to work well within a team

- A genuine understanding that quality support means meeting care needs while helping participants enjoy their day and live meaningful lives

Essential requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

- Working with Children Check

- Current First Aid and CPR

- Current Victorian Driver Licence and comprehensive vehicle insurance

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate

- COVID-19 vaccination compliance
