Steppe Construction The Contract Administrator manages contract and commercial administration for construction projects, including documentation, progress claims, variations, procurement, cost tracking, and stakeholder coordination. The role supports compliance and timely project delivery.

Task & responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for administering contracts across our projects, including but not limited to: Preparing, reviewing, and administering contracts, tenders, purchase orders, and variations Monitoring contract performance and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions Preparing and processing progress claims, payment schedules, and cost reports Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters Maintaining accurate contract records, documentation, and correspondence Assisting in the management of project budgets, timelines, and deliverables Identifying, assessing, and helping to resolve contractual disputes, claims, and variations Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements Preparing regular reports on contract status and financial performance for management Supporting the procurement of materials, services, and subcontractor engagements Qualification & experience Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience as a Contract Administrator or in a similar construction contracts/commercial role Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Sound understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost-control processes Strong numeracy, analytical, and documentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract/project management software Excellent communication and negotiation skills Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability
