About the role
About MTC Australia
At MTC Australia, we're on a mission that matters - delivering corrections, detention, training and education services that change lives and strengthen communities. Every day, our people show up with purpose, guided by our BIONIC philosophy - Believe It Or Not I Care - a mindset that puts respect, dignity and genuine care at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
Are you a recruiter who thrives on the thrill of the search - spotting talent, building relationships and closing out great hires? We're looking for a driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People Services team and help us find the exceptional people who power MTC Australia. If you love variety, move fast, and get a buzz from connecting the right person with the right opportunity, this role is for you.
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, you'll take true ownership of end-to-end recruitment across a dedicated portfolio - from digging into resourcing needs, to sourcing standout candidates, to sealing the deal with a verbal offer. Beyond your portfolio, you'll help shape the bigger picture too, contributing to workforce planning, market intelligence, sharp recruitment reporting and smarter recruitment systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Own end-to-end recruitment campaigns across your portfolio, from that first briefing all the way through to a confident verbal offer.
Team up with hiring managers as a trusted advisor, getting under the skin of workforce needs, role requirements, market conditions and candidate availability.
Go on the hunt for high-quality candidates using direct sourcing, advertising, referrals, talent pools, market mapping and other savvy attraction strategies.
Champion recruitment and selection practices that are fair, consistent, merit-based and built to last.
Build vibrant talent pipelines that keep MTC Australia ready for whatever comes next.
Bring your creative flair to employer branding and social media recruitment activity, helping position MTC Australia as an employer people want to work for.
Turn data into insight with sharp recruitment reporting, tracking pipeline health, sourcing outcomes and the metrics that matter.
Collaborate closely with People Services colleagues, site leaders and external providers to deliver a seamless, standout recruitment experience.
About You
You're a natural relationship-builder with a knack for staying cool under pressure and juggling competing priorities without missing a beat. You bring sharp judgement, a can-do attitude and a genuine passion for creating standout experiences for candidates and hiring managers alike.
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
Proven experience managing recruitment in a complex, high-volume or geographically dispersed organisation.
A track record of coordinating recruitment campaigns and delivering results, even under tight timeframes.
Confident stakeholder management skills — you're comfortable advising and guiding hiring managers through every step of the process.
Hands-on experience with sourcing strategies like direct sourcing, advertising, referrals, talent pools and market mapping.
Sharp problem-solving instincts and sound judgement, even when things move fast.
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, plus comfort working with recruitment systems and technology-enabled processes.
Willingness to complete required pre-employment checks.
Flexibility to travel interstate from time to time to meet business needs.
Why You'll Love Working Here
Be part of a purpose-driven organisation genuinely transforming lives and strengthening communities.
Join a tight-knit, supportive People Services team where collaboration and continuous improvement are part of the culture.
Enjoy real variety, working across a diverse portfolio of roles and business areas while building broad recruitment expertise.
Make a genuine impact by shaping how MTC Australia attracts, selects and retains great people.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
MTC Australia is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We're committed to fair, merit-based recruitment and love hearing from people with the skills, experience and capability to thrive in this role. We're building a workplace where everyone feels respected, included and empowered to contribute.
