Casual Room Attendant

About the role

Great Southern Hotel Melbourne, a busy 4-star hotel in the heart of Melbourne CBD, is looking for experienced and motivated Casual Room Attendants to join our Housekeeping team.

With 265 guest rooms and consistently high occupancy, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work and wants consistent opportunities to work with an experienced hotel team.

The Role

As a Room Attendant, you will play an important role in ensuring our guests enjoy a clean, comfortable and well-presented stay.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning and servicing allocated guest rooms to hotel standards

• Making beds and replenishing linen, towels and guest amenities

• Cleaning bathrooms and maintaining high hygiene standards

• Ensuring rooms are presented to a consistently high standard

• Stocking and maintaining your housekeeping trolley

• Using cleaning chemicals, equipment and amenities safely and correctly

• Following hotel procedures, including guest privacy and room-entry protocols

• Reporting maintenance issues, lost property and room defects promptly

• Completing special cleaning projects as required

• Working efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 1 year of hotel housekeeping experience

• Has previous experience in a hotel environment (highly desirable)

• Takes genuine pride in cleanliness and presentation

• Has a strong eye for detail and high personal standards

• Can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

• Is reliable, punctual and self-motivated

• Has good communication and interpersonal skills

• Understands basic hygiene, WHS and safe working practices

• Is physically capable of performing the requirements of a housekeeping role

• Is flexible and available to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays

• Has full or appropriate Australian working rights
