Baptist World Aid Australia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Support Officer to join our Finance Team. This is a great opportunity for someone with around 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role wanting to build broader hands-on experience across accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations and financial administration within a purpose-driven organisation committed to ending poverty.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within the organisation. It’s well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, has strong analytical skills, and thrives on task completion.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

· The accounts payable process

· Handling account inquiries, managing other financial transactions such as credit card and petty cash payments, and assisting with international partner payments and month-end reconciliations.

· Maintaining accurate financial records for audit and compliance, and providing reports and participating in projects as needed.

This position suits someone who can work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll have around 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role, with a strong aptitude and readiness to build further skills.

· Completed a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

· Some experience with accounts payable /payroll processing or finance administration

· Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent organisational and communication skills

· Excellent organisational and communication skills

· Excellent Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

· Initiative and a positive, customer-focused attitude

· Alignment to the mission and values of Baptist World Aid Australia

Bonus points if you have experience with:

· NetSuite or similar systems

· International payments

· Not-for-profit organisations
