Senior Manager

THE ROLE

The Senior Manager, Safety will lead Homes Victoria's OHS strategy, systems and assurance framework for construction, upgrades and maintenance, ensuring critical safety risks are identified, effectively controlled and continuously improved. The role will build safety capability and accountability across the organisation and contractor network and use safety intelligence to prevent harm and drive a strong proactive safety culture.

The role reporting directly to the Executive Director, Performance and Governance, will work with the broader Homes Victoria stakeholder group including portfolio managers, contract managers, executives and key internal and external stakeholders, to provide OHS advice and support as part of ongoing OHS risk awareness and capability. The role will also embed broader health and safety programs and policies across Homes Victoria from the DFFH Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

• Support Homes Victoria's safety culture and strategy, including leading the integration of health, safety and wellbeing change management to ensure compliance to all applicable health and safety legislative obligations, with a focus on construction, upgrade and maintenance programs.
• Lead and coordinate the health, safety and quality assurance program for Homes Victoria construction projects and programs of work with a focus on high risk construction works, identifying hazards before they become incidents and quality before it becomes costly rework
• Identify emerging safety risks across construction, upgrades and maintenance activities and programs of work and support resolution and escalation to the HV ELT / SLT
