About the role

Our client is a provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Respite Accommodation (MTA/STA) for NDIS participants across Sydney. They specialise in culturally and linguistically aligned care services to participants from diverse backgrounds such as Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Indonesian, Korean, Italian, and many others.

In each of their homes, their participants and carers share language and cultural backgrounds.

As the SIL Manager (Team Leader / House Manager), you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring eﬀective and eﬃcient service delivery through role modeling, coaching, and supervision of staﬀ. You will work under the general direction of the Area Manager and Directors and provide participants with support that aligns with their goals and NDIS SIL plans, assisting them in achieving independent living.

Your role includes

Oversee the daily operations of our Supported Independent Living Home
Leading and modeling eﬀective person-centered practices, including working
individually with participants, planning and delivering work per care plans, providing support to families and carers, and working with local service providers.
Supporting the team in providing high-quality services in line with participant care plans, goals, and outcomes.
Developing fortnightly rosters, allocating staﬀ according to contracted hours, planned leave, and participants' care rosters.
Providing eﬀective onboarding, site orientation, and training to new employees, supporting their engagement and learning journey.
Conducting regular team meetings and monthly practice supervision to assess the performance of each team member.
Working with staﬀ, participants, families, and other stakeholders to understand and resolve concerns.
Coordinating on-site support and reviewing incidents and complaints.
Ensuring staﬀ work within Ample Life’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures of the Quality Management System.

Requirements

To be considered for the position, you must have

Minimum 2 years experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and a strong
understanding of NDIS
Capacity to eﬀectively lead, coach, and develop a team to achieve the best quality
service outcomes.
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, incorporating eﬀective
planning, time management, problem-solving, organisational skills, resourcing, and
achieving quality outcomes.
Ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
An understanding of available community services, networks, and supports.
Experience with behavioural management plans, restrictive practices and behaviours of concerns / high medical needs, manual handling, and medications
Empathy and passion to make a diﬀerence in the lives of those they serve.
A sound understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding framework
