Children and Families Pastor

Role Description The Children's and Family Pastor is a full-time, on-site role based in Gwandalan, NSW, focused on leading and growing ministry to children and their families. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and leading age-appropriate Bible-based programs, coordinating Sunday and midweek ministries for children, and fostering a welcoming, safe environment for families. The role involves supervising and mentoring volunteers, partnering with parents and caregivers in the discipleship of their children, and ensuring compliance with child safety and protection standards. The pastor will collaborate with the wider ministry team to integrate children’s and family initiatives into the life of the church, provide pastoral support to families, and participate in staff meetings, church events, and outreach activities.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability in Bible Study and applying Scripture in age-appropriate teaching and discipleship for children and families.Experience in Pastoring and Pastoral leadership within a church or ministry context, particularly with children and families.Strong skills in Pastoral Care, including listening, support, and prayerful guidance for children, parents, and caregivers.Commitment to Discipleship and nurturing spiritual growth through structured programs, mentoring, and family engagement.Alignment with Baptist or broadly evangelical Christian beliefs and lifestyle, with readiness to work within Wyong Baptist Church’s doctrine and values.Proven ability to recruit, equip, and oversee volunteers, with sound organizational and time-management skills.Experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children, with adherence to child protection policies and legal requirements.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate well to children, parents, and diverse families.Relevant theological or ministry training (formal or informal) is highly regarded; experience
