Centacare North Queensland is seeking compassionate and reliable Community Support Workers to join our Disability Services team. In this rewarding role, you will work alongside people with disability to support independence, build confidence, achieve personal goals, and actively participate in their community.

This position is a ‘risk assessed role’ and is subject to the NDIS worker ‘no card’ ‘no start’ rule*

• Multiple casual positions available in Townsville
• Hourly rate from $45.28 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)

About the Role

As a Community Support Worker, no two days are the same. You may provide support in a participant's home, in the community, during social outings, or within our SIL house in Mount Isa. 

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals
• Assisting with community access, social activities and appointments
• Encouraging independence and skill development
• Providing personal care and daily living support
• Assisting with meal preparation, domestic tasks and household activities
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Working collaboratively with participants, families and support networks

About You

You are someone who is passionate about supporting others and committed to providing person-centred care.

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience in disability, community services, aged care or a related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A current driver's licence
• Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
• A current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
