Fabricator/Welder

About the business and the role

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on light-gauge steel, RHS, and structural components used in caravan chassis and frames

• Fabricate and assemble caravan chassis, drawbars, suspension mounts, brackets, and associated structural components

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans, and production specifications

• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare steel components using hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment

• Align and position components accurately prior to welding

• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with required strength, penetration, and quality standards

• Grind, finish, and clean welds to meet quality and presentation requirements

• Conduct routine quality checks to ensure components meet production tolerances

• Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in safe operating condition

• Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures within the manufacturing facility

• Work collaboratively within a production team to meet daily output targets

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a Welder (First Class)

• AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or nationally recognised equivalent relevant to Welding)

• Demonstrated experience in MIG welding (essential)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans

• Experience working with light to medium-gauge steel in a manufacturing environment

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to work efficiently within a structured production setting

• Physically fit and capable of handling steel components as required
