We are seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team, with multiple ongoing opportunities currently available across Perth’s southern suburbs.
Current Opportunities:
We currently have a range of ongoing support opportunities available, including:
Kwinana – Regular ongoing support opportunities available.
Yangebup – Supported Independent Living (SIL) – Support opportunities available across 7 days, with a preference for female Support Workers.
Southern Suburbs – Individual & Community Support – Primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Female Support Worker preferred.
Golden Bay – Supported Independent Living (SIL) – Regular opportunities available across varied rostered shifts.
24/7 Supports – Opportunities across day, evening, weekend and active overnight shifts.
This is a great opportunity for Support Workers looking to build regular and consistent hours across a variety of support settings.
We are particularly interested in applicants with flexible availability, SIL experience and/or active overnight availability.
Female Support Workers are strongly encouraged to apply, as some participants have expressed a preference for female workers based on their individual support needs.
About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker with Heed WA, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.
Depending on individual participant needs, your role may include:
Personal care and assistance with daily living.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports.
Community access and social participation.
Transport and support to attend appointments and activities.
Shopping, meal preparation and domestic assistance.
Supporting participants to develop everyday living skills and independence.
Implementing Behaviour Support Plans and participant-specific strategies where applicable.
Active overnight support where required.
Completing accurate progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
Above all, you will support participants in a way that promotes choice, dignity, independence and meaningful participation in their community.
About You:
We are looking for Support Workers who are professional, dependable and genuinely committed to providing quality disability support.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in disability support, SIL, community services, aged care or a related setting.
A good understanding of person-centred support.
Confidence supporting participants with varying support needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good documentation and observation skills.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
A reliable, flexible and proactive approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team.
Relevant qualifications in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related field are highly regarded.
Mandatory Compliance Requirements
Applicants progressing through the recruitment process will be required to provide:
Identification – Driver’s Licence and Birth Certificate or Passport.
National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
Current First Aid Certificate – HLTAID002 minimum or HLTAID010 minimum.
Current Working with Children Check, if currently held.
Relevant certificates or qualifications, where applicable.
Immunisation History Statement for COVID-19 and Influenza.
Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance.
Current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Current availability.
