About the role
As a disability support worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with varying disabilities. You will work 1:1 with people of all ages and backgrounds, supporting people in homes and out in the community. From sharing a walk in the park to helping someone build life skills, your presence will matter every single day.
Key responsibilities
Providing personal care including bathing, grooming and dressing
Assist with meal preparation and dietary support as required
Support people with shopping and housekeeping
Supporting people to work towards their goals, whether that's building independence or social inclusion
Develop and maintain positive relationships, based on trust and respect
Encourage and support clients to be part of their community and do what they love
Maintain accurate and confidential records of supports provided
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
About you
Compassionate, patient and have a genuine commitment to supporting people in our community
Reliable with a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and also part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality, boundaries, and sensitive information
Great communicators, active listeners and emotionally intelligent
A current First Aid Certificate and CPR
Valid Australian Driver's License and a reliable, registered vehicle
WWVP
Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module – "Quality, Safety and You"
Prior experience and qualifications are highly desirable
