About the role
We are representing a global Data Centre EPC with an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Scheduler to support the planning and delivery of major construction projects across Australia.
Working across both live construction and pre-construction, you will take ownership of developing, managing and reporting integrated project schedules while working closely with construction teams, contractors, designers, suppliers and clients.
Beyond maintaining programmes, you will play an important role in identifying potential schedule risks, analysing delays and developing recovery and mitigation strategies to keep projects moving.
This opportunity will suit a scheduler who enjoys being close to project delivery rather than operating purely as a reporting function.
You will need to be comfortable collaborating with construction, design and project management teams; engaging contractors and suppliers; challenging programme assumptions; and identifying potential issues before they negatively affect the schedule.
The role requires someone who is self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working across changing project priorities, while maintaining a strong focus on programme integrity and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and regularly update Integrated Management Schedules across multiple construction projects.
- Develop tender schedules for upcoming projects using pre-construction design information and documentation.
- Manage project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Monitor actual construction progress against programme and provide clear, accurate schedule reporting.
- Prepare and present schedules, progress reports and programme information to internal project teams and external clients.
- Work closely with contractors to understand actual progress, proposed construction sequences and methodologies.
- Identify programme risks and constraints, proposing schedule recovery strategies and delay mitigation measures where required.
- Prepare delay analysis reports for internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Produce detailed and short-term schedules, filtered programmes, schedule extracts and progress reports to support project delivery.
- Engage with vendors and suppliers to understand lead times and delivery dates and incorporate these into project schedules.
- Work closely with design and project management teams to identify design, technical and engineering issues early and minimise their impact on programme.
- Contribute scheduling expertise to project decision-making, including consideration of alternative construction sequences and methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve and innovate existing planning and scheduling processes.
Key Requirements:
- Experience scheduling large-scale construction projects using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
- Advanced-level capability in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Site experience on major construction projects in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing and buildability.
- Sound knowledge of engineering and construction principles.
- Ability to develop schedules that reflect contractual and end-user requirements.
- General commercial awareness of construction contracts, including the ability to identify and record change events and delays.
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to communicate complex programme information clearly to project teams, contractors and clients.
- Construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience and knowledge of temporary works would be advantageous.
