Acting Middle Leader (2pt) - Mathematics (Years 7-12)

St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1650 students in 2026. The College is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site.  As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12).  St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist teaching facilities.

A temporary full time parental leave replacement position commencing 28 January 2027 until 2 July 2027. The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in the Mathematics faculty.

The role of Middle Leader exists to support the Principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:

• Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
• Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
• Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
• Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
• Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant KLA.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA: 

• Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College whilst leading and supporting the Mathematics faculty and its students
• Experience teaching one or more Mathematics subjects to Stage 6

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses of Mathematics to HSC Level.
• Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’  policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
• NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.
