IT Support Officer

Role DescriptionThe IT Support Officer will provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of the organization's IT systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role is responsible for assisting users with technical issues, maintaining IT equipment, and supporting the implementation of technology solutions that enhance business operations.The position will troubleshoot hardware and software problems, install and configure computer systems, user accounts, and business applications, and provide timely resolution to technical support requests. The role will also assist with system maintenance, software updates, asset management, data backup processes, and IT documentation to ensure reliable and secure IT services.Key responsibilities include responding to helpdesk requests, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, monitoring IT systems, supporting network connectivity, maintaining IT inventories, coordinating with vendors when necessary, and promoting IT security best practices. The IT Support Officer will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and basic networking concepts.Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, user account administration, and common business applications.Understanding of IT support processes, troubleshooting methodologies, and technical documentation.Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide user-friendly technical support.Ability to manage multiple support requests, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under deadlines.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and IT service standards.Strong attention to detail, customer service mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and technology improvement.
