The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a Full-Time Sheet Metal worker at our facility in Wingfield. Consisting of daily fabrication and assembly activities required to keep multiple concurrent projects on the move, this role will assist the production team in delivering projects on time and budget.

Reporting to the Fabrication - Leading Hand the key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: 

• Manufacture, fabricate and assemble steel and aluminium products in-line with times quoted

• Fabricate products to customer and Axiom specifications using drawings and 3D models.

• To set-up and operate sheet metal cutting, bending and folding equipment 

• Grow our K-TIG welding capabilities

• Meet production time, quality benchmarks and recording in manufacturing system

• General workshop duties, upkeep of tools, materials and consumables

About You

 To be successful in this role, we expect that you will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential

• Certificate III – Fabrication Trade

• Problem-solving skills

• Ability to work closely in a team

• Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads

• A thorough understanding of the industry and job allocation

• Computer Literacy

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Sheet metal cutting, folding and bending machine experience

• 3 years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding stainless steel and aluminium, along with metal fabrication

• Ability to read workshop drawings

• Ability to work unsupervised, and/or supervise others including apprentices 

Desirable

• Press brake experience

• Laser cutter/water jet cutter experience

• Forklift Licence

• Motor Vehicle Licence

• Previous experience with a minimum of 5 years within a similar industry

Applicants progressing to the interview stage may be required to undertake a weld test.

Applicants must be an Australian citizen and be able to meet ITAR clearance requirements and be willing to undergo Defence Security Clearance as required.

The successful applicant will need to undertake a pre-medical assessment and possibly undergo a National Police Check.
