About the role
Since 2018, our client has come a long way from its origins in Regional Victoria. Today, they are a diversified business with over 100 skilled and dedicated staff throughout Eastern Australia.
Their delivery team includes experienced construction managers, estimators, supervisor and project managers. The delivery team works closely with internal trades, subcontractors and other consultants to ensure smooth project coordination and completion to a high-quality standard.
The on-site team includes internal trade specialists, including carpenters, plumbers, brick layers, cabinet makers, plasterers, tilers, painters and experienced labourers, who work diligently to ensure timely completion and high-quality delivery of every project we undertake.
Purpose & Role Overview
The Area Manager is responsible for the operational, financial and administrative performance of NSW. The role makes sure projects, staff, financial processes and client relationships are managed effectively while maintaining company standards, meeting KPI targets and supporting growth across the area.
The successful applicant will provide leadership to the area’s site and administrative teams while keeping strong oversight of allocations, invoicing, financial performance, reporting, staff development and client engagement. During the transition they will remain the main supervisor for the area, and will continue hands-on estimating, supervising work, and provide job-costs to projects.
Reporting Line
The applicant will report to the State Operations Manager and direct reports within the area may include supervisors, estimators and administration staff.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate workloads, job allocations and team capacity to keep projects running smoothly.
Work closely with supervisors and estimators to plan and track project progress.
Oversee invoicing, budgets, financial reporting and forecasting.
Monitor job performance and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Manage quality issues, defects and client concerns through to resolution.
Track team and business KPIs and prepare regular performance reports.
Lead, coach and support a team across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW region.
Plan staffing, training and resource requirements to support business growth.
Build strong relationships with clients and represent the business at meetings.
Support business development and help grow the company's presence in the region.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in operations, project, or area management [Construction would be essential}.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Financial acumen, including budgeting, invoicing and reporting.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and business management systems.
A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
