Disability Services Team Leader

Earn approximately $100,000 – $120,000 per annum (including penalties), based on the current structured day-shift roster (including weekends), plus super and access to salary packaging benefits.

We are seeking a calm and confident female Team Leader to work within an established Supported Independent Living (SIL) home.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining direct participant support with responsibility for coordinating staff, supporting consistent practice, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

What you’ll do

• Lead and mentor a team of Disability Support Workers within a Supported Independent Living environment

• Coordinate day-to-day supports, appointments, routines and community access

• Model consistent, person-centred active support that promotes safety, choice and independence

• Ensure individual support plans, care plans and risk management strategies are implemented consistently across the team

• Guide and support staff to implement Behaviour Support Plans, high-intensity supports and complex health routines safely and in accordance with training and clinical guidance

• Maintain clear and professional communication with participants, families, colleagues and relevant external stakeholders

• Oversee documentation, shift notes, and incident reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance

• Monitor staff compliance with training, certifications and organisational procedures, maintaining a strong culture of accountability

• Participate in the shared on-call roster on a rotational basis (approximately one week in every eight), with an additional on-call allowance applicable

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated experience supporting people with disability in Supported Independent Living or similar environments

• Experience supporting people with complex support needs, including behaviours of concern and/or high-intensity daily supports

• Confidence guiding staff to implement care plans, Behaviour Support Plans and risk management strategies safely and consistently

• Understanding of participant health needs, medication routines and clinical support requirements, and when to escalate concerns

• Confidence leading or guiding staff and promoting consistent practice across a team

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

• Sound understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and person-centred active support

• Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid and CPR, NT Driver’s Licence and influenza vaccination

• Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services or a related field (e.g. Certificate IV or Diploma) are highly regarded
