Role Description This contract Network Security Engineer role is based in Sydney, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows a mix of onsite and work-from-home. The Network Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures supporting enterprise communication and customer experience solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances; monitoring network performance and security events; and conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation. The role involves collaborating with engineering and operations teams to develop secure architectures, documenting configurations and procedures, and supporting incident response and root-cause analysis. The engineer will also contribute to security best practices, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement of VIS Global’s network and security posture.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Administration to design, configure, and support complex enterprise networks.Proven expertise in Network Security and Cybersecurity to protect infrastructure, manage threats, and implement security controls.Solid understanding of Information Security principles, standards, and frameworks to align technical controls with governance requirements.Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, routing and switching technologies, and secure network architectures.Proficiency with network monitoring and security tools (e.g., SIEM, packet analyzers, vulnerability scanners).Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent industry credentials are highly regarded.Ability to analyze complex issues, document solutions clearly, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience in enterprise communication or unified communications environments is an advantage.
