About the role

We are seeking a experienced part-time (or full time) Medical Receptionist or child-care worker to join our paediatric podiatry clinic in Graceville, QLD. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for providing excellent administrative and front-of-house support to our patients and clinical team. This is a great opportunity to work in a friendly, family-oriented healthcare environment. The role would suit experienced receptionists/administrators or child care workers who love working in administrative roles with families/children and have incredible attention to detail and organisational skills. 

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and welcoming patients to the clinic, both in-person and on the phone

• Scheduling and managing patient appointments

• Preparing and maintaining medical records and other administrative documentation

• Assisting with billing, invoicing and other financial tasks (NDIS, Medicare, Hicaps etc)

• Ordering and maintaining medical supplies and equipment

• Providing general administrative support to the podiatry team as required

• Assisting with retail aspects of shoe fittings, inventory management, product education, merchandising, stock transfers, stock takes and stock rotations

• Assisting with Shopify website product management and Point of Sale

What we're looking for

• Someone who loves working with families/children

• Attention to detail and incredibly strong organisational skills are essential

• Ability to learn very quickly and adapt to unfamiliar software in a short time 

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar customer service role, ideally within a healthcare setting

• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with patients, clinicians and other stakeholders

• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and general office equipment

• A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanor when dealing with patients

• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy of patient information

• A willingness to assist in retail aspects of shoe fittings and stock control

• An ease in working with families and children

• A minimum of 16 hours per week - and a maximum of 38 hours per week. For the right candidate hours will be agreed upon between the Employee and Employer. This role may be either permanent part time or full time.

• Candidates must be available at least 2 days per week (ideally Tues, Weds, Thurs, Sat). 

• Candidates must have a minimum 2 years experience in medical reception / administration or childcare work. Candidates with managerial/supervisor role in retail setting will also be considered.
