CNC machine operator - laser/plasma

About the role
Airpak Sheetmetal is seeking a CNC Machine Operator – Laser/Plasma/Coil Line to join our team on a full time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art precision machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Based in West Gosford, NSW, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality sheet metal duct work to our clients. This position is essential to maintaining our production schedules and ensuring we meet the exacting standards our clients expect.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and managing CNC laser/plasma cutting and coil line machines to precise specifications and tolerances

• Loading and unloading sheet metal materials onto cutting machines safely and efficiently

• Monitoring machine performance during operation and making real-time adjustments to ensure quality output

• Performing routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor machine issues

• Inspecting finished components for dimensional accuracy and surface quality, adhering to quality control standards

• Maintaining a clean and organised work area, following health and safety protocols at all times

• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to optimise production workflows and meet daily targets

• Assist with general production duties as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience operating CNC laser and/or plasma cutting machines in a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and machine capabilities

• Knowledge of quality control procedures

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work safely and follow all health and safety regulations and procedures

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced production setting

• Current Drivers licence & own transport is essential

• Current Fork Lift licence is desirable

• Current First Aid certification is desirable
