About The Role
Join MacKillop Family Services as a Restoring Families Practitioner and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and families. In this rewarding outreach role, you will provide intensive, therapeutic, and family-centred support to strengthen family relationships, improve child safety and wellbeing, and help prevent children from entering or re-entering care. Working closely with families in their homes and communities, you will deliver evidence-informed interventions, collaborate with key stakeholders, and empower parents and carers to build safe, stable, and nurturing environments. If you are passionate about trauma-informed practice, social justice, and creating positive outcomes for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
This is a Fixed term (until August 2027) Full-Time opportunity based in Footscray within our Restoring Families Program. The position reports to the Restoring Families Practice Leader.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Key Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field (or a relevant Diploma with substantial experience).Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, and families experiencing complex needs, trauma, attachment issues, and involvement with the child protection system.Proven ability to deliver therapeutic outreach casework using a strengths-based, whole-of-family approach.Experience applying the MARAM Framework, including risk assessment, safety planning, and information sharing within family violence contexts.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with families, community services, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in a culturally safe manner.

You Must Have a
