We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Gibbs Street PS is ideally seeking a confident, innovative Deputy Principal whose chief professional responsibility ideally is to bring evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with teachers and school leaders.
Suitable applicants will ideally require outstanding communication and interpersonal skills necessary to lead and manage staff in key school initiatives including:
Suitable applicants should have credibility with teachers and administrators, the ability to juggle several roles, and the skills needed to work one-on-one and in small groups, with teachers as well as to oversee a wider professional development effort in the school.
As the Deputy Principal you will ideally focus on practical changes teachers can make in their classrooms, supplementing this with professional development activities, and skilful mentoring of beginning teachers. Suitable applicants will ideally need to be able to build and maintain effective relationships across the school whilst developing a clear commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth of all staff.
Suitable applicants should be committed, resilient and highly motivated to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as eager to lift student performance and maintain high expectations through innovative and exemplary teaching practices.
