Department

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

About the role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the mental health sector? The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Department combines the strengths of AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centred support to adults and older adults through an expansive range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.

As part of our commitment to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we’re expanding our offerings to ensure clients benefit from specialist expertise alongside access to innovative, broad-spectrum care options. This includes specialized pathways for substance use disorders, rehabilitation and recovery, physical and mental health integration, and trauma-focused services.

Our department focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation services, designed to support individuals through every stage of their recovery journey.

About you

• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and registration with relevant professional organisation or body (Nursing and Midwifery Board/Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, or eligibility with AASW)
• Sound knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and other relevant Legislation and their relevance to this client population
• Demonstrated competence in the provision of a full range of mental health services including: mental state and psychological assessments (including crisis assessments), individual, family and group, treatments for clients presenting with a range of behavioural, emotional, social or developmental issues, including psychosis and alcohol and other drug issues
• A current driver’s licence is required to undertake this role.
• Australian working rights, satisfactory completion of Working with Children Check and current Influenza vaccination
