About the role
Murrup is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that partners with four remote First Nations communities to support children and young people to thrive. We deliver programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people from birth to early adulthood that remove barriers to true freedom and address the determinate to education. We work with individuals, families and communities in the home, at school and in the neighbourhood. And we employ local staff to deliver our programs, making us a vital employer in remote communities.
Over the past three years, we’ve transformed our organisation. We’ve reimagined our strategic plan, redefined our program logic and invested in our governance, compliance and systems. We're well embedded in the service sector of each of our four partner communities, and we’re trusted delivery partners. Importantly, our staff are leaders in their communities.
We’re looking for Board members to guide our organisation as we take our next steps and deepen our impact even further.
You’ll join a supportive Board that is committed to applying a cultural lens over everything we do while ensuring our foundations are solid and built on best practice. Our approach is centred on self-determination and community-led decision-making, and a genuine yearning to close the gap.
Murrup is seeking to appoint new voluntary Board members who uphold Murrup’s values and vision.
We are particularly seeking people with lived experience and expertise in the following areas:
