Industry Liason Officer

About the role

Tec-NQ is seeking a motivated and supportive Industry Liaison Officer who is committed and passionate about training in the North Queensland region. The Industry Liaison Officer will be responsible for maintaining strong links with Industry, supporting students with work placements and conducting apprenticeship signups. The role is based in Townsville with a requirement for travel throughout the Townsville region to conduct apprentice sign ups on an as needs basis.

About you

• Ability to establish networks with apprentices, employers and appropriate stakeholders
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
• Effective negotiation and representation skills
• Proven ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to a dynamic and fluid environment with the ability to work under pressure and to strict time frames
• A Queensland working with children card or the ability to obtain
• Current C-Class Australian Drivers Licence
• Experience in a similar position within the Vocational Education and Training system (desirable)
• Demonstrated knowledge of the North Queensland Region and the key skill demands relating to the region (desirable)
• A sound understanding of the Vocational Education and Training system and the awareness of VET in Schools and School-Based Apprenticeships (desirable)
