About the role
Banksia Palliative Care Service is a community-based specialist palliative care organisation providing services to people with life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Our clients are based in the local council areas of Banyule, Nillumbik, and Whittlesea.
Our valued team of health professionals visit clients in their place of residence to provide expert person-centred palliative care. We become partners with our clients and their loved ones and facilitate their participation in decision making so they can achieve quality in life and ensure dignity at the end of life.
About the Role
Banksia welcomes applications from experienced and passionate Registered Nurses to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (0.6EFT - 0.8EFT).
As a Community Palliative Care Nurse, you will be a valued member of our multidisciplinary team. You will be supported to work independently in the community to provide symptom management, advance care planning, and end of life care.
Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidates will have:
Completed a Degree in General Nursing and have current professional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Experience in Palliative Care/Oncology/Haematology nursing within a community or hospital-based service and at least five years of nursing experience.
Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
Hold an unrestricted driver's license, have access to a car and be willing to use it for work when requested (with reimbursement).
Permanent Australian residency.
