What we’re looking for:

Trade Qualification: 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related Engineering Degree
• At least 5 years professional experience as a design engineer of mechanical components/assemblies, working from concept to manufacture

Technical experience: 

• Demonstrable experience in designing machinery
• Advanced experience with a 3D modelling package (ideally Solidworks)
• Strong understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing, thorough knowledge of AS1100
• Functional experience with Finite Element Modelling (FEA)
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised as well as part of a team.
• Strong computing skills in the Microsoft Suite and other applicable design software as required for the role.
• Excellent communicator,both written and verbal.
• Varied experience in designing for a range of manufacturing methods (e.g., machining, fabrication/welding, assembly, and surface treatments)

In addition to the above, you must be able to

• Pass a pre-employment, medical including drug and alcohol screening
• Provide GTE with 2 professional references (following interview)
