Food Safety Technician

About the role

One Harvest takes pride in delivering high-quality products to our customers while maintaining the utmost standards in food safety and quality. As we continue to grow and innovate, we are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Food Safety Technician to join our team reporting to the Food Safety & Compliance Manager at our Brisbane facility.

As a Food Safety Technician at One Harvest, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of our short shelf life food products. You will work in a dynamic environment with rotating shifts, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of our food safety and quality processes. Your primary responsibility will be to drive compliance with food safety regulations and company standards while upholding the highest levels of product integrity.

A day in the life

• Hands on factory focused role, driving continuous improvement of product quality and process.
• Ensure compliance activities are conducted as per standard of work, meeting One Harvest’s food safety management system.
• Assist with the completion of online verification and validation activities.
• Adhere to all food safety and quality standards on site.
• Be able to work rotating shifts covering our factory operational hours.
• Establish and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders on site.
• Investigate customer complaints, foreign objects finds, food safety and quality non-conformances.
• Assist during audits to achieve zero major or critical non-conformances.
• Conduct internal audits of factory processes.
• Coordinate and conduct site-testing in accordance with schedules, report any out of spec results to site and completion of corrective actions.
• Perform product and process assessments and provide solutions for quality issues.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, or similar is highly desirable
• Knowledge of food safety systems and standards (e.g. HACCP and BRC)
• Previous experience working within food manufacturing is advantageous
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible and available to work rotating shifts
