About the role

Ability Plus is seeking a Senior Rostering Coordinator to play a critical role in ensuring continuity of care, workforce optimisation, compliance, and operational excellence across our disability support services.
About the RoleAs our Senior Rostering Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising workforce deployment across multiple participant programs. You will work closely with Participant Program Coordinators, Support Workers, and operational leaders to ensure participants receive the right support from appropriately skilled workers while balancing workforce capability, SCHADS Award compliance, and operational efficiency.
This is a hands-on, solutions-focused role that requires strong judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while managing changing priorities.
What You'll Be DoingCreate, maintain, and optimise complex rosters across participant programs.
Manage unplanned absences, roster changes, and workforce shortages.
Apply SCHADS Award provisions to rostering decisions, including overtime, travel, broken shifts, and minimum break requirements.
Work closely with Participant Program Coordinators to maximise continuity of care and workforce utilisation.
Coordinate changes arising from participant needs, service variations, and hospital admissions.
Monitor attendance, leave, timesheets, and workforce utilisation.
Coach and support coordinators on best-practice rostering and workforce allocation.
Oversee After Hours rostering processes and ensure effective handovers.
Analyse rostering trends and provide operational insights and recommendations.
Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained within VisualCare.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in workforce rostering, scheduling, or workforce planning within disability, home care, aged care, or community services.
Strong working knowledge of the SCHADS Award.
Experience managing complex and changing rosters while maintaining service continuity.
Confidence using rostering, CRM, or workforce management systems (VisualCare experience highly regarded).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
The ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.

Working ArrangementTo support your onboarding and build strong relationships across the business, this role requires:
4 days per week in our Cheltenham office for the first 6 months
Following the initial onboarding period, a more flexible hybrid working arrangement may be considered based on performance and business requirements.
