About the Role

Prestige Autobody works is seeking an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity for a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and delivering excellent vehicle repairs.

Working as part of our professional workshop team, you will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicles to a high standard, ensuring each vehicle is restored safely, accurately and as close as possible to its pre-accident condition.

What You'll Be Doing

Assess damaged vehicles and determine the appropriate repair methods

Repair dents, creases and damaged panels using hand tools and specialised equipment

Remove, repair and replace damaged body panels where required

Carry out welding and associated repair work when necessary

Prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, grinding and filling

Follow manufacturer specifications and approved repair procedures

Complete repairs in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements

Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts and materials used

Operate and maintain workshop equipment safely and correctly

Work closely with the team to manage repair priorities and meet deadlines

Inspect completed repairs to ensure a high standard of workmanship and customer satisfaction

Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment

What We're Looking For

Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Panel Beating or Automotive Body Repair

Previous experience in a professional smash repair or automotive workshop

Strong knowledge of panel beating techniques and vehicle body repairs

Competent with hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment

Experience with welding and panel replacement

Good understanding of vehicle construction and repair procedures

Ability to follow technical repair information and manufacturer specifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Strong commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean workshop
