Disability Support Worker

Join Our Team as a Disability Support Worker!

We are seeking a passionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality support to NDIS participants in the Port Melbourne, Kensington, South Yara areas. This role would suit a confident support worker who has experience working with NDIS participants and is comfortable providing hands-on support to clients with complex care needs.

Availability:

• Shifts: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm | Minimum 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including toileting and showering assistance.
• Assist with meal preparation, cooking and household tasks.
• Support clients with community access and social engagement.
• Provide safe manual handling and mobility support.
• Assist with medication in accordance with the participant's support plan, relevant policies and your level of training and competency.
• Follow individual support plans and provide person-centred care.
• Support clients to maintain their independence, dignity and personal goals.

Essential Experience & Skills To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker with NDIS participants.
• Confidence working independently in clients' homes.
• Experience supporting clients with complex care needs, including MND and behaviours of concern.
• Manual Handling training and hands-on experience.
• Practical experience using manual handling equipment such as hoists and slide sheets.
• Strong understanding of person-centred care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A reliable, compassionate and professional approach.

Compliance Requirements Successful applicants will need to meet all applicable employment and NDIS requirements, which may include:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support, Nursing or a related field are highly regarded.
• Right to work in Australia.
• A valid driver's licence, appropriate vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle, where required for the role.
