Maintenance Fitter - Full Time

Cromford Film is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis.

We operate a busy plastics manufacturing facility with a range of extrusion, recycling, converting and associated production equipment.

We are looking for someone who is mature-minded, reliable and hands-on, with the ability to take ownership of the maintenance area and work independently. This role would suit an experienced fitter who takes pride in keeping equipment running, identifies issues before they become major breakdowns and is comfortable working across a variety of machinery.

Key Responsibilities

·   Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs across production equipment

·   Fault finding and breakdown repairs

·   Preventative and scheduled maintenance

·   Identify potential equipment issues and organise repairs before failure

·   Maintain and repair gearboxes, bearings, shafts, rollers, pumps, blowers, conveyors and mechanical drive systems

·   Work with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment

·   Assist with equipment modifications and improvements

·   Manage maintenance parts and critical spare requirements

·   Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when required

·   Maintain a clean and organised maintenance/workshop area

·   Work closely with production operators and supervisors to minimise downtime

·   Maintain basic maintenance and repair records

About You

·   Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner

·   Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment

·   Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

·   Able to work independently and take ownership of maintenance issues

·   Proactive approach rather than only responding to breakdowns

·   Reliable, organised and safety focused

·   Good communication skills and able to work with production teams

·   Experience with plastics extrusion, blown film, recycling, converting or flexible packaging equipment would

be highly regarded but is not essential
