Renard is a cocktail bar and bistro-theque located in the heart of Ballarat.

We are 5 years into our operations as Ballarat's favourite spot for date nights, late nights, and great nights.

Renard has featured in Boothby's Top 50 Bars in Victoria for the past 3 years.

We are extremely proud of our work here, with a strong regular customer base and a loyal following of hospitality industry regulars.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join our team at Renard in Ballarat, VIC.

This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to help lead our bar operations and deliver exceptional drinks and service that we are known for.

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the bar service and staff supervision -- as well as the fun stuff such as creating exciting cocktails and coordinating events.

You'll be working alongside Co-Owners / Venue management closely to help guide the business into future years of continued success.

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing daily bar operations and ensuring smooth service while leading from the front.

• Training, and supervising bar staff to deliver positive customer experiences and maintain high standards.

• Managing bar inventory, stock control, and ordering to minimise waste.

• Creating cocktails and updating bar menus seasonally.

• Monitoring and managing weekly bar finances and cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy.

• Maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with legislation and company policies.

• Ensuring RSA practices and adherence to licensing regulations and local liquor accord standards.

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with staff and customers.

• Problem-solving and handling customer complaints professionally and promptly.

• Collaborating with Co-Owners to deliver great experiences for the Ballarat.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or equivalent leadership role in a hospitality setting

• Strong knowledge of beverages, including wines, spirits, and cocktails

• Excellent leadership and people management skills

• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and bar management software

• Knowledge of RSA and applicable liquor licensing laws in Victoria

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service

• Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required

• A passion for hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere

• Problem-solving abilities and a dynamic mindset
