Riverwood Community Centre has been at the heart of the local community for more than 50 years, providing a range of valuable and high-quality programs for individuals, families and community groups in a caring and inclusive environment.

Riverwood Community Centre has a passionate team of skilled staff and valued volunteers. Our focus is to deliver community programs and support that meet the needs of our community through our:

• Aged and Disability Services.

• Children Long Day and OOSH - Out of School Hours,  Youth and Family Services.

• Community Programs including our Information and Referral Service

• Support for voluntary community groups that work with us on projects and events within our community.

Our programs and services are delivered through our three Community Hubs at Riverwood Community Centre, Punchbowl Community Centre and Thurlow Community Hub.. More than 2,000 people pass through our doors each week.

About the Role

• Bus Drivers to join our wonderful team supporting our aged care. groups and Out of School Hours runs to/ from local schools to the Centre. 

• Deliver personalised Care aligned with client's unique care plan. 

• Willingness to travel to clients home within the specified service locations.

• Regular checks and cleaning of the bus will also be the responsibility of the successful applicant.  

• Monitoring and reporting any changes in the clients health or behaviour.

• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service requirements.

• We can offer flexibility for shifts to suit your lifestyle and welcome applications from all ages.

• Primary Driving duties include home pick up and transport to the Riverwood Community Centre.

• May be required to support the Aged Care Support workers in setting up and packing away during Social Support Groups for RCC's clients.

• Be part of RCC's initiatives within the community.

Requirement & Essential Criteria

• Current NSW Driving License MR or above with a good driving record. (Essential)

• Clear verbal communication skills that are easy to understand, enabling effective communication with our elderly clients

• Respectful engagement with vulnerable people 

• Current Working with Children Check

• Willing to undertake a Criminal Record Check

• First aid qualifications

• Covid vaccination certificate mandatory

Desirable Criteria

• A second language

• Previous experience working in Aged Services or Out of School Hours (OOSH)
