Fortuna Foundation is a growing Western Australian charitable foundation dedicated to alleviating poverty and improving the wellbeing of children, people experiencing homelessness, the aged, people living with disability, and those facing hardship.
 
We work through a collaborative model, partnering with community organisations to deliver practical, grassroots initiatives that make a meaningful difference. Our projects include supporting the operation of the Positive Spin mobile laundry service for people experiencing homelessness and facilitating sector-wide collaboration through strategic partnerships.
 
As we continue to grow our impact, we are seeking an experienced and values-driven Non-Executive Director to join our voluntary Board.
 
About the Role
 
As a Board Director, alongside your fellow board members, you will provide strategic leadership, governance oversight and guidance to help Fortuna Foundation achieve its charitable objectives and expand its community impact.
 
This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise, networks and insights to an organisation committed to collaboration, innovation and practical solutions to community challenges.
 
The Board meets monthly during business hours, with occasional involvement in strategic planning sessions, community events and stakeholder engagement activities.
 
Preferred Skills and Experience
 
While we welcome applications from individuals with a broad range of professional backgrounds, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• Fundraising and philanthropy
• Marketing, brand development and strategic communications
• Public relations and media engagement
• Corporate partnerships and stakeholder engagement
• Business development and growth strategies

Candidates with expertise in fundraising and marketing/communications will be highly regarded, as these skills will support the Foundation's growth, profile, and long-term sustainability.

Previous board experience is desirable but not essential.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation
• Contribute to the fundraising activities of the organisation
• Ensure strong governance and accountability
• Support the achievement of the organisation's charitable objectives
• Participate actively in Board discussions and decision-making
• Assist in building relationships with community, government, corporate and philanthropic stakeholders
• Act as an ambassador for Fortuna Foundation within your networks
