About the role
As a Roteq Mechanical Technician Fitter, you will be responsible for repairing, replacing and upgrading equipment and parts. You will be reporting to the Mechanical Technician Leading Hand.
Key responsibilities
Providing in-field service/repair/diagnosis on equipment
Performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment - mainly diesel powered
Build, fix, commission and upgrade high-speed rotating equipment
Manage, maintain, check and test production machinery before actual production run
Design, weld and mount relevant brackets or mechanical structures that will accommodate various production runs and increase productivity or reduce breakdowns
Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment in the field of turbomachinery
Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines to turbo-machinery control equipment
Erecting machines and equipment on site
Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts
About you
Hold a valid Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
Construction white card
Must hold a current working at heights and confined space ticket
Must hold dogging and basic rigging ticket
Ideally hold an elevated work platform ticket
Ability to work efficiently and to deadlines including in after-hours/weekend and shift rosters as required
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect of others
Be able to identify, analyse and solve problems
Be able to work as part of a team
Mobile and willing to spend time away from office/home as and when operation requires
