As the Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring resources, people and workflow are effectively managed to meet client turnaround times, quality standards and operational requirements.

Working closely with the Laboratory Manager and senior laboratory team, you will help keep work moving efficiently through the laboratory while supporting our people and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

• Coordinate daily laboratory workflow, priorities and resources.

• Support the team to achieve productivity, quality and turnaround targets.

• Assist with rostering, leave management, training and employee development.

• Monitor laboratory quality processes and support ISO 17025 requirements.

• Assist with investigations, troubleshooting and corrective actions.

• Oversee sample receiving, registration, retention and disposal activities.

• Coordinate routine maintenance and laboratory resources.

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OHSE requirements are met.

• Work closely with the Laboratory Manager and provide operational support as required.

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in a laboratory or relevant technical environment.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

• An understanding of laboratory quality processes and OHSE requirements.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Intermediate IT skills.

• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous.
