Mechanic | Trades Assistant

About the role

Colonial Freight Lines is seeking an experienced Truck & Trailer mechanic or Trades Assistant (TA) to join our growing team in Maddington, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that will play a key role in all of our maintenance and repair operations.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out maintenance and repairs to our fleet of commercial on-highway trucks and trailers

• Performing everything from servicing tasks and minor repairs to major repairs on both trucks and different types of trailers

• Essential experience with Trucks and Trailer servicing and repairs required for this position.

• Identifying and reporting any issues or faults with the vehicles

• Ensuring the workshop is kept clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards

• Providing general support to the maintenance team as needed

What we're looking for

• Experience working on trucks and trailers in a qualified or trades assistant role within the transport industry

• Must have prior experience working with truck and trailer repairs is required.

• Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow instructions closely

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship

• A team-oriented attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff

• A valid manual driver's licence and the ability to operate light vehicles

• Australian citizenship is required for this role.
