PurposeThis is a part-time role working three days per week. The role is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll for the corporate group, including monthly payroll, end-of-month casual payroll, employee-related liabilities, statutory payments and lodgments, and regular liaison with the HR team regarding new starters, departures and employee changes.The successful candidate must be available on the scheduled processing days for both monthly payroll and end-of-month casual payroll.
Responsibilities
Payroll:Prepare and process monthly payrollPrepare and process casual payroll at the end of each monthMaintenance of payroll recordsGeneration of payroll related journals and posting to general ledgerReconciliation of payroll journals to general ledgerPreparation of monthly payroll reconciliations to strict monthly reporting timetable.Monthly payroll reporting, including to Finance, HR & Management teamSet up new employees on the payroll systemCalculate and process termination paymentsCompletion of annual worker’s compensation wages declaration and renewal forms.Preparation and distribution of employee payment summaries after tax year endPreparing annual reconciliations of payroll-related areas, eg - workers compensation, payroll tax, PAYG & superannuation.Reconciliation of the payroll system (wages & related liability balances) with the general ledger.Management of superannuation including setting up of new employees, processing monthly payments and ensuring legislative requirements are satisfied.Calculation & payment of salary sacrifice amounts, and monitoring salary sacrifice balances.Ensuring payment obligations are met on time, eg - PAYGW, payroll tax and super obligations.Filing of all payroll related documentationRespond to payroll-related enquires from the business in a timely mannerComply with all company policies and procedures, including OH&S.Maintain pay-records, associated time-keeping data & statistics, leave records and related information.

Required Competencies and ExperiencePrevious payroll experience and experience with using a mid-range payroll systemStrong MS office skills, particularly in ExcelA high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage priorities and meet deadlinesStrong numeracy skillsGood communication skills – both written and verbalProven experience working in an autonomous role
