Abaxa is looking for experienced Subsurface Utility Locators who take pride in accurate work, put safety first and want to build a long-term career with a professional field team.

You’ll work across a variety of metro and regional infrastructure projects, using EM and GPR technology to locate and map underground services and help protect people, infrastructure and our customers’ projects.

What You’ll Do

• Locate underground utilities using EM and GPR equipment
• Interpret utility plans and service records
• Mark, map and document underground infrastructure accurately
• Work directly with customers and project teams in the field
• Complete clear reports, sketches and digital records
• Maintain and care for locating equipment
• Work safely around critical underground infrastructure
• Take ownership of your jobs from start to finish

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have:

• 2+ years’ utility locating or similar field experience
• Certloc Locator qualification or willingness to obtain
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Construction White Card
• Strong safety focus
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A reliable, positive and team-focused attitude

Highly regarded:

• GPR experience
• First Aid & CPR
• Western Power, ATCO or APA certifications
• Confined Space and Gas Atmosphere training
